Gas & Oil Engineer

Mid to West Devon
£20 per hour + Van + Fuel + Pension + Proper Team

About the role

You’ll be working across Mid to West Devon on a varied and interesting mix of work, including:

  • Installation, servicing and repair of domestic oil and gas boilers

  • Heating system upgrades and fault finding

  • Power flushing and system optimisation

  • Bathroom and plumbing installations

  • Exposure to renewable systems such as air and ground source heat pumps

We do things properly. No rushed jobs. No cutting corners. No “that’ll do” thinking.

The way we work

A big part of what makes CGH different is how we operate day to day:

  • 8:00am – 5:00pm working day, Monday to Friday

  • Jobs are well planned and organised in advance

  • All work is managed through Tradify — so everyone knows what’s happening and when

  • You’ll often have an apprentice supporting you on larger jobs

  • We focus on quality, not rushing from one job to the next

We plan our work properly. We communicate with customers. And we take the time to do things right.

Skills matter. Of course they do. But attitude is what makes someone successful here. We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Friendly, polite and professional with customers and the team

  • Confident communicating — not someone who hides behind the tools

  • Reliable, organised and takes pride in their work

  • A positive problem solver who thinks ahead for the tradies who come after us

  • Comfortable using technology (we run everything through Tradify)

  • A team player who supports others and contributes to the wider business

What you’ll get

  • £20 per hour, paid monthly

  • Branded company van and fuel card (business use only)
